Simon DuBois is a Psychologist with more than 20 years’ experience supporting individuals across the Byron Shire. He is known for creating a calm, grounded therapeutic space where people can work through psychological challenges with openness and clarity.
Simon draws on a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy and Mindfulness, alongside trauma-focused approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Polyvagal-informed therapy. His work is particularly focused on helping people understand and regulate the impact of stress, trauma, and long-standing emotional patterns. This often presents and is understood as anxiety and depression.
His approach is practical and integrative. Simon works collaboratively with GPs and other health practitioners, and where appropriate incorporates complementary and somatic-based therapies to support more complete and lasting outcomes.
Sessions are tailored to the individual, with an initial focus on gaining a clear understanding of each person’s situation, followed by a structured plan to address the underlying issues. An initial course of treatment (typically six sessions) is recommended, with further sessions considered after a treatment review.
Simon works with adults and young people aged 18 and over.
