In sickness and in health, a vow shared in devotion and love, signifying the commitment to honour and support another through the ever-evolving phases of life. This vow, uttered to another, reminds us that life is a collaborative endeavour which can be enriched when the experience and journey is shared.
This vow is just as important and powerful when considering our own wellbeing. Being committed to self care is as crucial as the act of caring for others.
We can all be prone to taking our health for granted, lost amongst the hustle of everyday life, until that day when it has transformed to illness. This is a story we often hear and one we strive to support patients through. As an integrative team of practitioners, we work to help a patient understand their body and their health so they are in the best place to return to and stay in wellness.
There are many ways to address sickness and maintain wellness:
In sickness, small things can become an overwhelming task and it is in this place where many begin to find a deeper appreciation for health – through experiencing both ends of the spectrum we find a deeper understanding and connection to our health needs.
At The Health Lodge, collaboration is fundamental to our model of practice, which can benefit patients and our team in a variety of ways. Each practitioner and modality bring their own unique perspective and experience to our team, which enriches our capacity to support patients through their journey of health and sickness. Through working together as a team, we fuse together the knowledge and experience of our different modalities to uncover the diverse layers of disease and illness, and effectively engage in a wholistic approach, addressing the different aspects of disease.
We witness the benefits of collaboration every day, through the practice of integrative medicine, and determining the best combination of therapies and course of action for our patients. Not everyone can afford a whole team approach, especially when someone has lost their health, as the capacity to earn an income becomes impaired. No health and sickness journey are the same, which means that there are many pathways back to wellness. The effectiveness of the integrative approach we take here at The Health Lodge, is that even if you cannot afford a whole team approach, you still receive the benefits of our practitioners’ accumulative model. Our collective framework helps educate all our practitioners about health and illness beyond their specific scope of practice, heightening their capacity to understand disease and support patients as they walk their own path back to health.
Whether in sickness or in health, we are here to offer the support and services to assist you as you determine your relationship with your wellbeing, mind, body and spirit.
