The Bamboo Yoga School at The Health Lodge is a boutique studio offering retreats, meditation classes and Yoga in Byron Bay.
Yoga is an ancient, holistic discipline that is increasingly sought by people who want to optimise their physical, emotional and spiritual health. At The Health Lodge, we have some of the most qualified and experienced Yoga teachers in the Byron Shire, known as the epicentre for Yoga practice.
Our range of classes caters to all levels and ranges of experience and are physically challenging, whilst retaining a focus on awareness with time taken for reflection of the breath and meditation. While keeping the classes vitalised and interesting, we seek to align practitioners with the deeper meaning of Yoga in a purposeful way.
All Yoga classes in Byron Bay are held in our Bamboo Yoga Temple and we offer a range of courses in meditation and Yoga, as well as regular group classes, private classes and workshops.

Mark has been studying the art and practice of Yoga and meditation for over 20 years and has experience in most of the major Yoga traditions, including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Bikram, Sivananda and Satyanananda. He also has spent many years practicing Daoist Qigong, Buddist Vipassana and Tantric meditation. He holds the highest level of formal qualifications available for Yoga and meditation teachers in Australia and has accomplished more than 1500 hours of formal study with the renowned Satyananda Yoga Academy.
Mark’s Yoga classes in Byron Bay provide his students with access to the vast knowledge base of the Yoga tradition in a meaningful and light-hearted way. He teaches a style he describes as ‘Yogic Meditation’ that embraces the flow from modern Vinyasa style practice with elements woven from Yogic meditation, Kundalini Yoga, Mantra, Breathing practice, Vedic meditation and Mindfulness. This is a dynamic, sophisticated and versatile style of practice that guarantees to deliver students to a profound state of self-awareness and calm.
Mark offers regular meditation and a timetable of classes in Hatha Yoga (physical practice), Yoga Nidra and Meditation for beginners, intermediate and experienced students at The Health Lodge.
