Polyvagal Theory in Everyday Life

Psychologist, Simon DuBois would like to introduce you to Polyvagal Theory, how it can be applied to everyday life and help us regulate strong emotions like depression and anxiety. Polyvagal Theory, developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, explains the connection between our nervous system and our emotional responses. It highlights how our autonomic nervous system is responsible for regulating our body’s response to stress and danger. By understanding the three distinct states of our autonomic nervous system, we can learn how to better manage our responses to stress, build stronger connections with ourselves, others and our environments, and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
